DAVID JUEN
Vinemaker out of conviction
David is not a classic winemaker with a predetermined career path. His journey into viticulture has been marked by a career change, curiosity, and a conscious desire to think outside the box. Experiences from earlier stages of his life have shaped his attitude and bring new perspectives to his work in the vineyard and in the cellar.
David is originally from Tyrol. Today, he lives and works in Krems an der Donau. His work takes him to both the Kremstal and the Wachau, where he cultivates vineyards and continues to develop his approach.
It is precisely this outside perspective that allows him to question the familiar and make decisions based on conviction rather than tradition. For David, wine is not a rigid set of rules, but a living process that requires attention, tact, and openness.
He does not see his role as a guardian of dogma, but as someone who takes responsibility while leaving room for development. His aim is to create wines that show their origin without being narrow-minded, and have character without being loud.
PHILOSOPHY & ATTITUDE
David believes in clarity rather than volume. In decisions based on observation and conviction, not habit. He understands wine as a living process that requires time, attention, and openness. For him, attitude is not about holding on, but about moving forward.
